Ever watch a bad movie with a smart-ass buddy, and the two of you heckle the flick, taking turns cracking wise at the idiots on the screen? Well, here’s a movie that does that to itself! “The Cabin In The Woods,” actually provides characters to stand back and heckle the othercharacters—and if that sounds confusing, it’s because Joss Whedon and his writing partner, Drew Goddard, making his directorial debut—have gone off the rails with their storyline. It’s so far over the top, it circles back around from the bottom to smack you on the ass with its surprise within a surprise “twist.”

Without question, this is one of the best movies of the year. I saw it twice, and you catch little things the 2nd time, but this movie was marketed perfectly and hopefully word of mouth continues to grow about this. It won’t be the same watching it at home, go see it in the theaters.
“The Cabin in the Woods” starts off as a college age teen horror flick but is something more. There is horror, gore, terror, and humor with some veteran actors showing up. Five students go in a Winnebago from the city to a remote ‘cabin in the woods’ and very strange things happen. You’ve never seen anything quite like this.
