Making a documentary about water, or the lack thereof, cannot have been an easy task, but director Jessica Yu’s “Last Call At The Oasis” washes over the viewer with aerial “beauty shots” and a spoonful of visual sugar that makes the medicine go down easily.
We learn that, although the planet may be mostly covered with water, the amount that is usable by humans is finite, in many areas, and quickly dwindling. Hard choices have to be made and, not surprisingly, part of that process has become politicized.
