On the one hand, this is just an advertisement to buy stuff (not that there’s anything in it for me), but I have so many Vinyl Nerd friends that I think would be interested in this that I’m posting for them and others like them.
The other thing is that I still haven’t gotten over the death of Petty, a guy I started seeing in concert back in 1979 and continued until just a few years before his untimely death. If his surviving family and the surviving members of The Heartbreakers can benefit from this, I’m all for it.
From Camp Petty today:
“To show our love for the fans, we are releasing two very limited vinyl editions of beloved Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers albums for delivery in time for Valentine’s Day. The collectible pressings of Damn the Torpedoes on red vinyl and Full Moon Fever on blue vinyl are available now in the Tom Petty Vinyl Store. Only 125 and 250 copies of each available, respectively.”
Looks like they sold out this initial pressing, no surprise, but you can get on the official wait list for Torpedoes HERE and for Full Moon HERE
By the way, the Finding Wildflowers gold colored vinyl is available for 32 bucks, and TP’s website has lots of merch. The store is HERE
If you haven’t seen it yet, the newest documentary which was mostly filmed during the making of Wildflowers and augmented with current interviews can be seen for free, right here, right now-just press play below:
