It’s been a momentous year for Udo Dirkschneider. Unbelievably, the former singer of German Metal bands Accept and the singer, founder and leader of U.D.O. turned 70 years old last April. And that’s not the only anniversary this year:
U.D.O. are marking the 35th anniversary since the founding of the band and the release of their debut album, Animal House this year.
What better way to mark this milestone than by releasing a career-spanning, best of, compilation?
Titled The Legacy, this 33 track release includes songs from every U.D.O. studio album over the last few decades and includes 4 rare songs which many longtime fans will be hearing for the first time.
I’m listening as I type this and really appreciating the production now more than ever. Udo is certainly one of the most enduring dudes in the Heavy Metal genre.
Dropping on November 18th, The Legacy is “by far the most extensive retrospective the band has ever released.”
