The dread is in the air – it’s thick…kinda like the blood will be later on in this B-movie (ish) Horror flick, which is perfectly cast and takes just a bit too long to get to the payoff. Otherwise, there are reasons to sit it out and gobble up the gore, if you’re so inclined.
Chloe (Kimberly Laferriere) and Jack (Rogan Christopher) are a good-looking, newlywed couple who’ve come to Miami to Honeymoon. They don’t seem the least bit compatible. Jack has a history of drug problems but has tentatively cleaned up. Chloe feels more like a maid or a mom and not the desire of Jack’s affection.
They meet an older couple in the hotel lobby who invite them to come over to party and possibly swing in their room. Well, things go well, until they don’t, then Jack and Chloe retreat to their room, their jealous sides have flared and Jack, predictable went back to snorting coke like an 80s disco goon.
After things simmer down, the couple try some peyote, which results in the part that could have been trimmed a bit – a lot of arguing and hallucinating go round and round until things turn violent. An unplanned death in their room amps up the couple’s paranoia even further.
When things finally seem to come to a nasty climax between the couple, we are surprised that straight-laced Chloe can kick some serious ass, but tha
t’s just the beginning. With blood all over her, she has only one thing left to do. I will not say what that is, but the movie poster tagline says: “Love is All Consuming,” so I leave it to you to discover the final act.
Not bad for what it is. On-Demand platforms now (2022 version of this title). Heavy gore and drug use.
